How to get Deadlock

Valve has not published a public installer. Access is limited to a friend invite from someone who already plays, and the only store entry is Steam app 1422450.

I checked the store page and the appdetails payload on 24 October 2026. package_groups was empty, so there was nothing to buy and no key field to redeem.

The only path that matches the store

Steam’s own notice says access is limited to friend invites from playtesters. Tracklock’s invite guide, which we treat as a dated third-party write-up, says the sender uses Invite Your Friends from the main menu.

Delivery is not instant. That same guide says invites often take one to two hours. If nothing shows up, open the account playtest page rather than buying a code.

StepWhoWhat happens
1YouShare your Steam profile or friend code with someone who already has access.
2TheySend the invite from the in-game menu. The Hideout is the social hub where this lives.
3YouAccept the Steam notification, or open store.steampowered.com/account/playtestinvite.
4YouInstall app 1422450 from your library. There is no separate launcher.

What not to pay for

Because the API shows no purchasable package, a “Deadlock key” cannot be a Valve product today. The same is true of mobile APKs: Windows is the only platform flag set to true.

Questions

Can I download Deadlock right now?

Only after a playtester invites your Steam account and you accept. The store page still says the game is not yet available.

Is there a Deadlock key or APK?

No package is for sale, and there is no official Android build. Treat key shops and APK pages as unrelated to Valve’s playtest.

Where does the game appear after I accept?

In your Steam library as app 1422450. Install it the same way you install any other Steam game.
