How to invite friends to Deadlock

Invites are Steam playtest grants tied to an account. The sender picks a friend in the game menu. The receiver accepts a Steam notice or the account playtest page.

I compared Tracklock’s invite write-up with the official forum thread about pending invites. Both point at the same Steam playtest page, so that is the step I would trust first.

Sender and receiver

Tracklock describes the sender path as main menu, Invite Your Friends, select a Steam friend. It also says delivery is typically one to two hours, so an empty notification tray is not proof the invite failed.

The receiver can also look under Account details, Playtests. Forum users on playdeadlock.com confirmed that old invites stay on that page even when the client still says pending.

What is still unknown

Whether a playtest invite expires is not documented by Valve. If nothing has arrived in 24 hours, check the playtest page. Do not assume an old invite has locked the account: a forum reply in the same thread says old invites do not brick anything.

Questions

How do I send an invite?

From the main menu, open Invite Your Friends, pick a Steam friend, and send. The Hideout is the social space where that menu lives.

How do I accept an invite?

Use the Steam notification, or sign in and open the account playtest page. After you accept, app 1422450 shows up in your library.

Is there an invite code to paste?

No. Deadlock does not use a public code. Links sold as codes are not a Valve product.
