Deadlock builds

Community builds are notes other players maintain. Steam Dashboard, reading client build 6785 on 15 October 2026, describes them as plans across items, ability points, imbues and flex slots.

Valve moved build browsing and editing into the Shop UI in August 2024, and public builds sort by favorites. A popular build is a signal of use, not of win rate.

The economy a build spends

Items come in three types. Weapon items raise gun damage and add bullet effects, Spirit items power abilities, and Vitality items add health, defence and movement. Each type has four tiers, and every item in a tier costs the same.

A build is the order you buy those tiers plus the order you upgrade abilities. The Curiosity Shop sells 156 items, and Street Brawl adds 17 Legendary items of its own.

TierCost (souls)Typical role
1800Lane starters and cheap components
21,600First power spikes and upgrades
33,200Core items for the mid game
46,400Late-game finishers

Slots, actives and upgrades

These inventory rules decide how many items a build can hold and how much a mistake costs.

  • Nine item slots at the start, and three extra slots once enemy Walkers fall.
  • No more than four active items at once.
  • Some Tier 2 and higher items use a component item and are discounted by its cost. Extra Spirit (800) builds into Improved Spirit and Surge of Power.
  • Selling refunds half the price, or the full price if you sell before leaving the shop area.
  • Investment bonuses grow with the souls you spend in each type, up to 28,800. The jump at 4,800 souls, the “4.8k spike”, gives +46% weapon damage, +38 spirit power or +38% health.

Where to find per-hero builds

deadlock.run does not publish its own per-hero build yet; hero guides wait until they meet our editorial standard. These are the places players actually use.

  • The in-game Shop: browse, favorite and edit builds during a match or in Sandbox. Builds can have named item categories.
  • Statlocker Builds Hub: a recommended build per hero, with win rate and match count.
  • Buildlocker: a Statlocker sister site with a build library, Build Lab and Eternus builds.
  • Tracklock: build and pro-build pages for every hero.

Recent item changes to check against old builds

A build written before one of these patches may buy an item that has since changed.

  • 14 October 2026: Radiant Regeneration spirit scaling cut from 0.04 to 0.035.
  • 22 May 2026: new Tier 1 Vitality item, Grit.
  • 30 April 2026: new Tier 4 Vitality item, Indomitable.
  • 6 March 2026: new Tier 1 Spirit item, Golden Goose Egg.

Questions

Does a popular build win more?

No. Steam Dashboard says favorites are not a win-rate signal. Trackers that publish build win rates are listed below.

How many items can I hold?

Nine slots at the start, plus three extra slots that unlock when your team destroys enemy Walkers. At most four of your items can be actives.

Where do I find a build in game?

Open the Shop during a match or in Sandbox. Since August 2024 builds are browsed and edited there, and public builds are sorted by favorites.

Where is Graves’s build?

Not on this page. For per-hero builds with win rates, open Statlocker’s Builds Hub or Tracklock’s hero build pages, and check the patch date they show.
